Substitute Ongoing Preparation Payroll Information
Go to Administration > Registration Settings > Attendance.
Search for and select an activity.
Click the attendance Date link.
Click the Change Substitute Instructor Payroll link.
The following options are included on the Change Substitute Instructor Payroll page:

Default flat fee that the substitute instructor is paid regardless of the number of registrants, sessions, or fees collected.
If you enter values in different fee fields, they are applied together.
For example: a substitute instructor may be paid a Fixed Fee plus a Fee per Hour, Fee per Student, or Fee per Session, and a Percentage of Primary or All Fees. |

Default fee per hour that the substitute instructor is paid for this activity.
The number of hours are calculated based on total course time (not including the setup and cleanup times).
Defaults to the value from the instructor record but may be changed. |
Fee per Student |

Fee per student that the substitute instructor is paid for this activity.
The substitute instructor is paid the amount entered here times the number of registrants.
This does not include customers on the waitlist or customers enrolled with deposit. |

Default fee per session (each meeting of the activity) that the substitute instructor is paid. |
Percentage of All Fees |

Default percentage of all registrant fees that are paid to the substitute instructor. |

Note: If the substitute instructor is paid by percentage of primary fees only, and none of the activity fees are defined as a primary fee, the substitute instructor does not receive any payment. |
Fee per Student per Hour |

Default fee per hour per student that the instructor is paid.
Payroll is calculated according to the attendance time multiplied by the number of students enrolled.
Note: Enrollees are counted towards payroll only after their Enrollment Effective Dates. |

Default fee per session per student that the instructor is paid.
Payroll is calculated according to the number of sessions attended multiplied by the number of students enrolled.

Substitute Default Up-Front Preparation Payroll Information |

Amount of preparation time in hours and minutes.
If this activity is a private lesson, the payroll sections are the same as the defaults that are specified for the substitute instructor's instructor record.
If the activity is not a private lesson, the payroll sections default to the same information for the regular instructor except for this field, which defaults to 0 (zero) hours and 0 (zero) minutes since a substitute is likely not paid for up-front preparation time.
Note: For the same substitute instructor subbing for the same activity and regular instructor, the same payroll settings can be shared. |
