Seasons define registration periods. They typically coincide with the production of a brochure. Often there are three or four seasons per year but the number is not limited.
Default Registration Dates/Times
Click Administration > Registration Settings > Seasons.
You can sort the parent season list by Name, Begins (season start date), or Ends (season end date).
From the Parent Season List page, clicking Add New brings you to the Change Parent Season page, allowing you to create a new season record.
Clicking the Edit Child Seasons link brings you to the Child Seasons List page where you can modify or create a new term record.
From the Parent Season List page, clicking an underlined Name displays the Change Parent Season page, with the selected parent season loaded, allowing you to make any necessary changes.
On the Change Parent Season page, the following input fields can be entered, with the option to Save or Delete the record at the bottom of the page:

Name | Text | The name of the season, as it will be used in activity

The recommendation for naming is that the name includes the year as new seasons will be created each year (for example: Winter 2008). Required. |
Start Date | Date | The start date for the season;

This start date is used if there is no 1st date filled in when creating an activity. Click the calendar icon to select a date from the pop-up calendar. Required |
End Date | Date | The end date for the season;
entered in month, day, year format.
This end date is used if both the 1st date and the last date are left blank when creating an activity. Click the calendar icon to select a date from the pop-up calendar. |
Site | Dropdown list | The site attached to the season, as selected from a predefined
list.
The site selected will be the only site where the season can be used, unless the user has multi-site permission. Selecting All Sites will make the season available to all sites. |

Note that this field only displays if the Use custom activity numbers button is selected in the Activity Numbering Settings section of the Registration Settings - Configuration page. |

Select the checkbox to retire the season so that it can no longer be selected when searching for activities.
The season will still be available for reporting.
Note: Activities within a retired season will still be available for registration or modification, however they cannot be searched for by season (therefore they cannot be selected in open/close activities or retire activities). |
