Facility and equipment types are attached to facilities and are used during the reservation process to assist with the search for a facility or equipment. They can also be used when running reports to find out what is happening at facilities or with certain equipment types.
Facility and equipment types should be created so that each facility and piece of equipment will belong to one type or another without overlap.
Choose one of the following:
To add or modify a facility type, go to Administration > Facility Settings > Facility Types.
To add or modify an equipment type, go to Administration > Equipment Settings > Equipment Types.
Choose one of the following:
To add a new facility or equipment type, click Add New.
To modify an existing facility or equipment type, click the Description of the type.
Choose one of the following:
For a facility type:
In the Facility Type Details section, enter the Description and Site for the facility type.
In the Facility Reservation Settings section, enter the Minimum and Maximum Capacity, double-booking requirements, Minimum and Maximum Reservation Time, and Maximum Reservations per Customer per Day for facilities that use this facility type.
Select the Reserve by time increment and the Internet Reservation Process for facilities that use this facility type.
Note: To issue online reservation permits right away, select Permit. To allow reservation requests but require the permit to be approved by admin staff before it is finalized, select Reservation Request. To use the same setting specified in your facility configuration settings, select No Override.
To override the existing criteria for returning renters at this facility type, select Override Center Settings in the Returning Renter Qualifiers section.
To enable the facility type to be displayed on an interactive map, select Display On Map in the Map Settings section.
For an equipment type:
In the Equipment Type Details section, enter the Description and Site for the equipment type.
Specify the Equipment Category and whether the equipment is Bookable Only or Lendable Only.
For bookable equipment, select the Internet Reservation Process for equipment that uses this equipment type in the Equipment Reservation Settings section.
Note: To issue online reservation permits right away, select Permit. To allow reservation requests but require the permit to be approved by admin staff before it is finalized, select Reservation Request. To use the same setting specified in your facility configuration settings, select No Override.
Click Save.
