Creating and managing alternate keys

The following procedure provides details of creating and managing alternate keys.

Creating a status for an alternate key

      1. Create a status for the alternate key at Administration > Population Settings > Alternate Key Statuses. For complete descriptions of the fields on this page, click here.

      2. Alternate key statuses are typically active or inactive.

      3. If a customer alternate key is Active then give it membership privileges or the ability to successfully validate the customer.

Creating a type for an alternate key

      1. Add a new alternate key type at Administration > Population Settings > Alternate Key Types. For complete descriptions of the fields on this page, click here.

      2. Search to ensure you are not duplicating the alternate key type.

Modifying an alternate key

      1. Navigate to a customer record at Administration > Population Settings > Customers or Front Desk > Population > Customers.

      2. Click Change Alternate Keys.

      3. Make the necessary changes and click Save.

Modifying the status of an alternate key

      1. Click the Alternate Key ID.

      2. Make the necessary changes and click Save.
