File upload

Uploaded files are the image files or .pdf files that have been uploaded and can be accessed from other areas of the system. 

 

This master list contains the files but they still need to be assigned to a location for display or an event for play in Workstations, General Settings, Checklist Items or Pass Layouts.

Note: When you upload a file through the System Settings tab, it is available for all customers, whereas when you upload a file through the Customer Account page, the file is only available to that customer.

 

On the Uploaded File page, you will find the following input fields with the option to Save or Delete the record at the bottom of the page:

Display Name Text

The name of the file as will be displayed when attaching this file to the General Settings, Checklist Items or Pass Layout.

Required.

Description

Text The text to be used for the link to the uploaded file when it is displayed on the customer site (for example: checklist items or Quick Start guide).
 
This can be the same as the display name, if desired.
Required.

Site

Dropdown list Select a site to associate with the file.
 
Select the name of a site to associate this file with that site (the file will not be available for viewing or selection at other sites).
 
Select All Sites to make this file available to all of your organization's sites.
 
Note: You must have multi-site permissions to specify a site for your file. If you don't have multi-site permissions, then your site displays here and you cannot select a different site.

Visible to Online Instructor as Email Attachment

Checkbox To allow online instructors to select this file as an email attachment, select this option.

Use as Map Icons

Select this option to use an uploaded graphic file (.ico, .gif, .jpg format) as an icon for an interactive map.
View Hyperlink Option to preview the uploaded file.
 

Note: This option is only available after you save the uploaded file.

Play Hyperlink Option to play the uploaded sound file.

Change Uploaded File

Local File to Upload * Text This is the file name (including directory path) of the file to upload.

 

  1. To select the file to upload, click Browse.

  2. Click Save. A progress indicator appears as the file is uploaded to the system. Once the file is saved, you can preview it. See View above.

Using URLs

The URL column displays the automatically generated URLs (locations) for each uploaded file. You can copy and paste the URLs into emails.
